Grapheme-to-phoneme Conv Morphologica
This paper presents a new approach for grapheme-to-phoneme conversion based on morphology. With this approach, a high accuracy can be obtained, although not for all words a transcription is achieved. The principle of this approach is to automatically decompose an existing pronunciation lexicon into morpheme-similar units called pseudo-morphological units. The pronunciation of the pseudo-morphol...
متن کاملAutomated Japanese grapheme-phoneme alignment
This paper describes an adapatation of the tf-idf model to Japanese graphemephoneme alignment, without reliance on training data. The tf-idf model is optionally complemented with affixation and conjugation handling modules, and determines frequencies through analysis of “alignment potential”. The proposed system achieved a maximum accuracy of 94.74% on evaluation.
متن کاملParietotemporal Stimulation Affects Acquisition of Novel Grapheme-Phoneme Mappings in Adult Readers
Neuroimaging work from developmental and reading intervention research has suggested a cause of reading failure may be lack of engagement of parietotemporal cortex during initial acquisition of grapheme-phoneme (letter-sound) mappings. Parietotemporal activation increases following grapheme-phoneme learning and successful reading intervention. Further, stimulation of parietotemporal cortex impr...
متن کاملGrapheme-to-Phoneme Transcription in Hungarian
A crucial component of text-to-speech systems is the one responsible for the transcription of the written text to its phonemic representation. although the complexity of the relation between the written and spoken form of languages varies, most languages have their regular and irregular phonological set of rules. In this paper, we present a system for the phonemic transcription of Hungarian. Be...
متن کاملA phoneme-grapheme feedback consistency effect.
Recent studies examining the feedback consistency effect have been criticized for poor item selection (Peereman, Content, & Bonin, 1998). In the present study, an experiment was run with a new set of items, in which feedback consistency was manipulated at a phoneme-grapheme level. The results suggested that participants responded faster to feedback-consistent words than to feedback-inconsistent...
